Codicino

Codicino collects no data. None. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party software. Everything you create stays on your device. We operate no servers and we never receive your information.

Codicino is a secret-code game that teaches children the first ideas of cryptography. A child invents a code, writes a short message, sees how every letter changes, and prints a paper cipher wheel to swap notes with friends away from the screen.

This Privacy Policy explains how Francesco Sarpellon, operating as LoopSpark Studio ("we", "us", "our"), handles information in the Codicino application for iPhone and iPad ("the App"). Because the App is designed for children, we have kept both the App and this policy as simple as possible.

Data We Collect

We do not collect any data. Codicino has no user accounts, no sign-in, no newsletters and no contact forms. We do not collect names, email addresses, contacts, location, device identifiers, usage statistics or crash reports. We have no servers and no database: there is nowhere for your information to go.

The App's privacy label on the App Store is "Data Not Collected", and it is accurate.

What Stays on Your Device

Your secret codes
The codes you create — their name, type and key — are stored only in the App's private storage on your device. They are never transmitted anywhere. The App does not use iCloud sync.

Your messages
The text you type into a note is encoded on the device and shown on screen. It is never sent anywhere and it is not saved after you leave the screen.

Device backups
If you have enabled iCloud Backup or you back up your device to a computer, the App's local storage may be included in that backup. Those backups are managed by Apple under your own Apple Account; we have no access to them.

Permissions the App May Ask For

Both permissions below are optional, are used only inside the Parents' Area behind a parental gate, and never send anything to us or to anyone else.

If you decline these permissions, every other feature of the App continues to work.

Use of the Internet

Codicino works entirely offline. There are only two moments when the App uses a network connection, and both happen only if you choose them:

Nothing else in the App connects to the internet. There is no cloud processing, no remote configuration and no content downloaded at runtime.

Third-Party Services

Codicino contains no third-party software of any kind. There is no advertising network, no analytics library, no crash reporting service, no social network integration and no tracking technology. The App is built entirely with Apple's own frameworks.

The only third party involved is Apple, which processes in-app purchases through the App Store under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

Codicino is published in the App Store Kids Category for ages 6–8. It collects no personal information from children — or from anyone else — and it contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party software.

The App is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation including its provisions on children (GDPR, Article 8), and Apple's requirements for apps in the Kids Category.

Specifically:

Because no data is collected, there is no children's data for a parent to review or delete. If you have any question about your child's privacy while using Codicino, please write to us at hello@loopsparkstudio.com.

Data Retention

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. The information you create stays on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. Deleting the App removes its local storage from your device.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the GDPR grants you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection in relation to personal data held about you.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, export or erase. You are in full control of everything the App creates: it lives on your device, and deleting the App deletes it. If you would like written confirmation of this, contact us at the address below.

Security

The strongest protection Codicino offers is that your information never leaves your device. Local data is protected by the security of iOS and iPadOS and by your device passcode. Requests to open our web pages use HTTPS encryption.

Please note that the secret codes taught by the App are historical, educational ciphers. They are a game for learning, not a method of protecting confidential information — see our Terms of Use.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
